This week we’re coaching you on a subject that trips up even the most experienced professionals. Listen in as we talk about how to approach the dreaded salary topic, and the different types of questions you may encounter in an interview:
Question #1: What are your salary requirements?
Question #2: What is your current salary?
- If you are paid at market today
- If you are undercompensated today
- If you are making a career change
The takeaway here is that you need to craft a simple answer to a simple question. Prepare to elaborate with details only when asked. Stick to the facts–don’t try and finesse this question, as it almost always sounds phony. Your best course of action is honesty.
